Microsoft Office for iPad

Microsoft Office for iPad

Their are latest rumors on Microsoft Office for iPad coming in 2012. Microsoft already has numerous popular — and some not so popular — apps available for the iPad. They include Bing, MSN Onit and MSN OnPoint. There are even more available for iPhone, including Microsoft Tag, Windows Live Messenger and Wonderwall.

Now according to the daily Microsoft is planning a version of its Office business app for the iPad.

If Microsoft ends up earning significant money from Office on the iPad, it would present yet another case in which the company profits from a competitor walloping it in other areas.

The publication cites unnamed sources for the information, and adds that a new edition of Office for Mac OS X Lion is also in development for a release date in 2012. Despite competing in a number of areas, including mobile-device software, Microsoft and Apple have maintained a longstanding and largely positive relationship when it comes to Office on the Mac. An extension to iOS seems natural and—considering the sheer size of the iPad user base—potentially very profitable for Microsoft.

The full versions of Office for Mac and Windows 8 are expected to launch near the end of 2012, though the iPad version could come well ahead of that date.

iPad 3 is to be Launched in 2012

iPad 3 to be Launched in 2012
It’s starting to get hard to imagine how our technology can get any better besides it just being thinner, faster and lighter. That’s been the course at least for the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch family of devices over the past few years, with obvious new technology added as well. The question remains now though, how will Apple top the iPad 2?

Apple has been rumored to have the iPad 3 in the planning stages for several months now since the launch of the Apple iPad 2 in March 2011. As in true Apple fashion, March 2012 will be the month we most likely see the iPad 3. According to sources within the manufacturing world, 1.5 million screens were ordered as parts for the new iPad 3, which may boast a 2048×1536 resolution screen, still at 9.7 inches in size. That’s a double in resolution from the last iPads.

Susquehanna Financial analyst Jeff Fidacaro told AllThingsD “Since our last month supply chain checks we are now seeing 600,000 to one million iPad 3 builds showing up on the plan for the fourth quarter of calendar 2011.” This would put Apple about ready to sell 1 – 1.5 million iPad 3 units by the time March 2012 rolls around, and since the iPad 2 sold 1 million the first weekend of launch, we’re sure the iPad 3 will outsell it.
With the latest Android 4.0 tablet announced and shipping within the next month or so, Apple will no doubt be ready for the new iPad 3 launch in March 2012, with more than the usual ‘Thinner, faster, lighter’ feature list. Watch for that!

iPad comparison with different Tablets

Apple iPad 2, no doubt, is the king of all the Tablets in the present market. However, there are a few other tablets that are raising their significance with additional features that Apple iPad 2 doesn’t have. Some of them are…
  1. Motorola Xoom : A 10.1″ tablet that runs on Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) operating system is the top competitor of iPad 2. With Nividia Tegrs 2 duo-core 1GHz processor, it facilitates the user with fast accessing of applications. Motorola Xoom has two camera, front (2MP) and Rear (5MP). The most attracting feature is that, unlike iPad and iPad 2, Xoom supports SD Card which is to be appreciated. It costs around $799.

  2. Samsung TX100 : Samsung, which is well known for its android mobiles, is the next competitor of iPad 2. Samsung has launched a new 10.1″ tablet “TX100″ with QWERTY keyboard which slides out from bottom (you don’t need to buy an extra keyboard case like with iPad 2). Interestingly, the TX100 is powered by Windows 7 Phone OS. The Samsung TX 100 comes at an affordable price of $700 (single version)

  3. Blackberry PlayBook : Blackberry is number one in terms of Smartphones and now it entered the tablet market with its new “Blackberry PlayBook”. It is a 7″ touch screen with thickness of 10mm and supports 4G technology. There is no doubt that it stands top among the competitors of iPad 2 with its exciting features. It costs around $699.

  4. LifeBook T730 Tablet PC : LifeBook is a 12.1″ tablet that runs on Windows 7 operating system with 2GB RAM and Atom Z670 processor. It has a dual-mode (convertible to either PC mode or Tablet mode). With this unique functionality, the cost will obviously be higher ($1200).

  5. Toshiba Tablet : Toshiba is one of the most recognizable brands when it comes to Laptops. However, Toshiba is now keen in marketing its latest tablet in to the market. The Toshiba tablet is an android based tablet with 10″ touch screen and rugged surface. It runs on Android 3.0 operating system. Toshiba states that “the features provided by it will definitely attract the users”, which is true. It costs around $580.

All the above tablets have the scope to compete against Apple iPad 2. Though there are other tablets apart from these, we’re just listing a few. Hope you liked it!
